The First Aid & Ambulance Corps of the Bradley Beach Fire Department, Inc. was formed on June 7, 1933 to aid firefighters injured in the line of duty.  It soon expanded to aid the whole community.  They were at the Morro Castle event in Asbury Park, the Hindenburg explosion in Lakehurst and the Blue Comet wreck in Chatsworth.  The squad still has the wire basket from the Morro Castle. The squad was also at the Hercules powder plant explosion, Ammunition Ship explosion, Woodbridge train wreck, Allaire train wreck, forest fire in Lakewood. The squad would stand by at wall stadium for Saturday car races. In the Press archives there is a picture of the Bradley Beach Ambulance by the wreckage of the Hindenburg.

On March 25, 1948 the squad separated from the fire department and became the Bradley Beach First Aid Squad, Inc. with their own building at 725 Main Street.  The dedicated volunteers still answer calls from this building.  They do what is now called mutual aid to Ocean Grove and Neptune Township and just about anywhere where they are needed.  They also belong to what is called the Answer Team.  This Team is comprised of are First Aid squads and called the minute any municipality has trouble with people in distress in the water.  The aim is to get an ambulance there within 5 minutes.
